Our ZeroOne CodeClub team's journey to creating an AI-powered Job Portal and winning ₹15,000.

Securing 2nd Place at Siddhartha Academy's 24-Hour Webathon

The Challenge

When our ZeroOne CodeClub team heard about Siddhartha Academy's 24-hour Webathon, we knew this was our chance to showcase our skills and compete against the best developers in the region.

Our Solution: Arbeit - AI Job Portal

We decided to create Arbeit, an AI-powered job portal specifically designed for AI-related careers. The name "Arbeit" means "work" in German, perfectly capturing our platform's essence.

Key Features:
- Intelligent Job Matching: AI algorithms that match candidates with relevant opportunities
- Skill Assessment: Automated skill evaluation for both employers and candidates
- Real-time Notifications: Instant updates on application status
- Modern UI/UX: Clean, responsive design built with Next.js

Tech Stack:
- Frontend: Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS
- Backend: Node.js, Express
- Database: MongoDB
- AI/ML: Custom algorithms for job matching

The Result

After 24 intense hours of coding, debugging, and presenting, we secured 2nd place and won ₹15,000!

The judges were particularly impressed with:
- Our innovative use of AI in recruitment
- Clean, professional UI design
- Scalable architecture
- Real-world applicability

Key Learnings

1. Team Collaboration: Working under pressure taught us the importance of clear communication
2. Time Management: 24 hours forces you to prioritize features effectively
3. MVP Mindset: Focus on core functionality first, polish later
4. Presentation Skills: A great product needs great presentation

What's Next?

We're now working on expanding Arbeit into a full-scale platform. The hackathon validation gave us confidence that there's real demand for AI-powered recruitment tools.
